Xmas Jacen+Tenel Kaby ~angel-gidget

Christmas gift for my LJ friend Tenel_Ka. Basically after Jacen went all Darth Caedus on us, in the first half (left) TK is all happy to see him and seems oblivious to his sithly gaze, but in the second half (right) her eyes are open and she's perfectly aware of what he's become. And then I threw little Allana in there just for kicks.

I really like the colouring in this picture, so bright. Nice touch with Allana and it's great how Jacen {Caedus} turned out in this pic.

She doesn't have a left arm. When she and Jacen were teenagers, he accidently cut her arm off in a lightsaber accident. They both blamed themselves: Jacen, for cutting off her arm, and Tenel Ka, for building a defective lightsaber. They eventually agreed that they could both share the blame and still be friends. (It was the Young Jedi Knights book "Lightsabers" and it's one of my favorite books in the series.)

Tenel Ka, being stubborn and traditional, decided not to adopt a prosthetic hand, and simply learned to live her life with one arm.

Oh, Force--I sure hope not!! AAACK!! TK is no slouch in the Force (...which is why I wondered why it took her so long to figure Caedus out... **shaking head** Love is, indeed blind...), so with the two of them Sith, things would be exponentially bad for the galaxy! I like this piece (it makes me sad, though): beautiful colors, and lovely metaphor. Well done!

My thinking for this was that love only *seems* blind, at least in TK's case. The second half wouldn't necessarily indicate that she's gone evil, but that she's aware of Jacen's villainy. Unfortunately, I don't know that cannon Tenel Ka is quite as alert. Unfortunate for her.
